LOS ANGELES -- After Trumaine Johnson, the primary cornerback who was franchised for a second straight year, the Los Angeles Rams' two best, most important unrestricted free agents were Kenny Britt and T.J. McDonald.
Neither is expected back.
Britt, the team's leading receiver by a wide margin over the last three years, is signing with the Browns after the Rams didn't show any real interest in retaining him. McDonald, the starting strong safety since 2013, is expected to sign elsewhere, too. And the Rams have divergent plans for how they will replace each of them.
