Thomas' Rams Rewind: Punter Hekker makes case for Rams MVP

The defining moment in Sunday's 9-6 Rams victory over the New York Jets?

That would be Johnny Hekker's 78-yard punt from the Los Angeles 17 early in the fourth quarter of what was then a 6-6 game. Even after Jalin Marshall's 10-yard punt return, the Jets took over on their 15.

That's what you call flipping the field: 68 yards worth of field-flipping, to be precise.

Then, after the third 3-and-out of the day by the Jets' anemic offense, Rams rookie Pharoh Cooper did something that Tavon Austin rarely does as a punt returner. Instead of letting a short punt (35 yards) by Lachlan Edwards hit the ground and perhaps bounce many yards farther downfield, Cooper dashed up field for a fair catch.
