As the events of last weekend in Charlottesville, Va., deepened the nation’s racial divide, several observers from the NFL corner of the world — including outspoken Seattle defensive end Michael Bennett — said it was time for a white player to take a stand.
“Because when you bring somebody who doesn’t have to be part of (the) conversation making himself vulnerable in front of it, I think when that happens things will really take a jump,” Bennett said Wednesday on ESPN’s “SC6” television show.
