For those of you who believe defense wins championships, we present the counter-argument:
Tom Brady of New England, Ben Roethlisberger of Pittsburgh, Aaron Rodgers of Green Bay and Matt Ryan of Atlanta.
Together they form a quarterbacking “Fab Four” in the NFL’s Final Four. As of right now, three are probable Hall of Famers — Brady, Roethlisberger, Rodgers — with this year’s likely MVP — Ryan — thrown in for good measure.
“It’s very hard to be good over time if you really don’t have an elite quarterback — or a top-tier quarterback,” said Rick Venturi, a longtime NFL defensive coach and now a radio and TV football analyst based in Indianapolis.
