Patience never was a virtue for Rams coach Mike Martz. That never was more aptly displayed than on a Saturday morning at the NFL Scouting Combine 15 years ago.
As Martz stood outside the media workroom at the Indiana Convention Center, he informed reporters that defensive end Leonard Little had just agreed to terms on a new contract.
And what about middle linebacker London Fletcher?
“I’m tired of waiting on London Fletcher!” Martz barked in exasperation.
Tired of waiting for Fletcher to make a contract decision.
Martz was politely reminded that it was only day one of free agency — it’s not as if Fletcher had dragged things out for weeks.
