Cooper Kupp’s days as a member of the Los Angeles Rams are officially over. The new league year begins Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET and the team already announced that they are planning to release him. Kupp is due $5 million in guarantees on March 15 as well as a $7.5 million roster bonus on March 16. While ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Rams planned to release Kupp when the NFL’s new season starts Wednesday, it really wasn’t new information. For financial reasons, that was always inevitable.
For much of the last month, the Rams have tried to trade Kupp.
