On-duty police officers in Los Angeles have been performing game-day security work at no charge to the Rams, a lawsuit filed Wednesday alleges.
According to the Los Angeles Times, former LA city councilman Dennis Zine filed the suit against the city of Los Angeles and LA police chief Charlie Beck, alleging an illegal "gift of public funds" to provide security at Rams home games, at no charge to the team.
The Rams played Dallas Aug. 13 and Kansas City on Aug. 20 in preseason games at the LA Memorial Coliseum, their home for the next few seasons while a stadium is being constructed in nearby Inglewood.
