Make no mistake, the chief NFL team St. Louisans are interested in is the one from Kansas City.
So much so that the Gateway City finished 10th nationally in television ratings for the Chiefs’ scintillating 38-35 victory over Philadelphia in the Super Bowl on Sunday.
That’s right. St. Louis, the town the NFL abandoned eight seasons ago when it moved the Rams back to Los Angeles, generated a better rating for the game than 21 of the 30 markets that currently have a team in the league. Norfolk, Virginia, was the only other non-NFL city in the top 10, ranking seventh.
