Perhaps one of the great mysteries in the NFL, at least as it pertains to the majority of fans who have never had to coach or play or needed to dive into the strategical side of football, is answering the question, “If something works for one coach, why don’t the rest of the coaches just copy it?”
Well, as you already know, the NFL is called a “copycat league” and so it’s not always a matter of not attempting to copy the successful teams. Teams can try to steal concepts and tendencies, they can even steal coaches who worked for that coach to emulate what he did, but ultimately teams can never steal what’s most important of all:
