IRVINE, Calif. -- Sean McVay attended Super Bowl XXXIV in 2000 when Kurt Warner's then-St. Louis Rams narrowly defeated Jeff Fisher's Tennessee Titans. McVay had just turned 14. Now, 17 years later, he has replaced Fisher as head coach of the Los Angeles Rams.
Life is weird sometimes.
"I think you appreciate just what a small world this business is," McVay said, "and you feel so humbled and blessed to be able to get in it when I did because of my grandfather's history. To be here, it’s a blessing."
McVay's grandfather, John, a celebrated former executive for the San Francisco 49ers, gifted McVay tickets to the game for his birthday, six days before the Super Bowl.
