As expected, the Los Angeles Rams recently placed the franchise tag on Trumaine Johnson for the second-straight season, scheduling him to be the league’s highest paid cornerback for the 2017 season. While it’s easy to debate whether this was the right move by the Rams when looking at his numbers from last year, it appears there’s a chance Johnson ends up on a different team.
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Los Angeles is considering the possibility of trading their beloved cornerback, as numerous teams appear to be showing interest in Johnson. At the moment, nothing can be completed until Thursday afternoon when the new league year officially begins, but if the Rams did ship Johnson off to a different team, it would be quite the turn of events.
