On Thursday afternoon, the Rams announced the tendering of linebacker Travin Howard and offensive lineman Coleman Shelton as exclusive rights free agents. Players that can be tendered as ERFA’s are those who have accrued fewer than three seasons and have an expiring contract. The tender now restricts Howard and Shelton from negotiating with other teams.
Howard, a former seventh-round pick back in 2018, missed all of last seasons after sustaining a meniscus tear during preseason practices. In 2019, he totaled 22 tackles and three pass breakups while playing in every game during the regular season.
Shelton is heading into his third season with the Rams after signing with the team as a free agent prior to the 2019 campaign.
