The 2006 NFL Draft possessed a decent haul when it came to cornerback talent. However, the corners that wound-up being “successful” in the pros were not the ones who were highly-regarded as first-round talent. In this re-draft by Bleacher Report’s Brad Gagnon, there are multiple CBs taken in the top-25 who weren’t originally drafted that year.
The Rams, who needed help in the secondary, grabbed one of the most-athletic cornerbacks of this century in Clemson’s Tye Hill with the 15th-overall pick after trading back from #11. Hill ran a 4.30 in the forty - it was the fastest time ever recorded electronically - and jumped over 41 inches in the vertical.
