Tim Lester, a running back-turned-fullback that was drafted by the Rams in 1992, died on Tuesday due to complications from COVID-19. He was 52 years old.
In his eight-year career, Lester also spent time with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys. In his three years with the Rams, he developed a great relationship with running back Jerome Bettis, which is why he followed him to the Steelers where he earned the nickname “The Bus Driver”.
Lester played his collegiate football at Eastern Kentucky University.
After retiring following the 1999 season with the Cowboys, Lester settled down in Milton, Georgia and became heavily involved in coaching high school football and other community activities.
