After reports came out of the team approaching Michael Brockers to restructure his contract for the sake of getting under the 2021 cap, the Rams sent him off to reunite with new Lions general manager Brad Holmes in Detroit in exchange for a seventh-round pick in this year’s draft.
Following the deal, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, along with other analysts, gave the deal a solid “B” for the Rams and an “A” for the Lions.
“This is a deal that makes sense for both sides. Detroit needed help on the interior of its defensive line and didn’t want to spend for the likes of Dalvin Tomlinson or Shelby Harris.
