Rams TV ratings in LA don't rival what they used to in St. Louis

The Rams were a big hit Saturday in the Coliseum for their return engagement to Los Angeles, but not so much in the television ratings.

Their exhibition opener, against Dallas, drew 89,140 fans — the largest crowd ever to attend an NFL exhibition game in the United States. And after a terrible start they rallied to beat Dallas 28-24.

But according to Nielsen, which tabulates TV viewership, the rating in LA fell well short of what the team had been doing in recent seasons in St. Louis — where it had been for 21 years before heading back to LA last offseason.
