LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Rams have signed defensive lineman Ethan Westbrooks to what basically amounts to a two-year, $3 million extension, a source confirmed to ESPN. The deal cuts Westbrooks’ 2017 tender from $1.797 million to $1.25 million and is worth $1.75 million in 2018, according to NFL.com, which first reported the news Monday morning.
Westbrooks, a starting defensive end after Dominique Easley suffered a torn ACL, went undrafted out of West Texas A&M but appeared in 35 games for the Rams from 2014-16, starting twice last season. The 26-year-old had a sack and a tackle for a loss in Sunday’s 46-9 season-opening win over the Indianapolis Colts.
