Rams Rewind: Game 1 looked very familiar

En route from St. Louis to Los Angeles, the Rams had more than eight months between regular-season games.

Months to evaluate and scout talent. Millions of dollars spent acquiring new talent or retaining existing talent. On the field, there was offseason conditioning, OTAs, training camp, and preseason games.

So a lot goes into the buildup to a regular-season opener. With that in mind, the Rams' first contest with "Los Angeles" in front of their names was mind-boggling.

On an opening NFL weekend in which 11 of the first 15 NFL games were one-possession contests — with four decided by one point, two decided by two points, and one going into overtime — the Rams were on the wrong side of a 28-0 blowout to San Francisco.
