Rams coach Jeff Fisher clarified the Alec Ogletree injury on Tuesday.
The third-year linebacker had Tuesday morning surgery in St. Louis for a fractured right fibula _ not the ankle _ and will remain on the 53-man roster _ for now.
“Surgery went really well this morning,'' the coach said. “We have decided not to use the IR designation at this point. So he'll be a Sunday inactive and out. We'll just kind of see how things go and there's a chance for a return.''
But Fisher stressed that Ogletree will miss at least eight weeks.
