The Los Angeles Rams waived linebacker Elias Neal on Monday, parting ways with the undrafted free agent out of Marshall after five appearances and 63 snaps on special teams. Neal wasn’t being touted as a replacement for Ernest Jones or anything, but L.A. is moving onto other options to open up a spot on the 53-man roster by releasing Neal this week.
The 23-year-old from Memphis who was born on September 11, 2001, led Marshall with 93 tackles and 10.5 TFL in 2023. He was not invited to the combine and signed with the Rams after going undrafted, leading to a surprising place on the 53-man roster out of training camp.
