Without a lot to smile about recently, Rams coach Jeff Fisher welcomed a question about wide receiver Stedman Bailey as the coach met with reporters Monday in Earth City.
“He’s doing better,’’ the coach said. “It puts a smile on my face when I get to think about him and where he’s at (in his recovery).’’
Fisher said the third-year receiver continues to make steady progress after enduring a six-hour operation the day after he was shot.
Bailey’s four-game suspension for violating the NFL policy on substance abuse came to an end Monday. Fisher said that Bailey came off that list and that the Rams are working with NFL to place him on the non-football injury list.
