The Rams struck first on Sunday, going up 3-0 on a 33-yard field goal from Greg Zuerlein with 8:11 to play in the first quarter. The scoring drive was highlighted by a 54-yard bomb from Case Keenum to Kenny Britt followed up by an elusive 13-yard run by Tavon Austin.
The long-ranged pass play helped get the Rams out of some tough field position; to start the game, they've begun drives at their 8-, 13- and 11-yard lines.
Through the opening quarter, the Rams defense limited the 49ers to two first downs and 32 total yards.
