Since 1999, NFL teams have participated in a variety of hands-on community service projects, known collectively as Hometown Huddle. Since then, the initiative has been a staple in the St. Louis Rams organization. At this year’s Hometown Huddle, the Rams hosted a PLAY 60 event at the O’Fallon Park YMCA in North St. Louis, in partnership with United Way of Greater St. Louis.
Running back Benny Cunningham, wide receiver Bradley Marquez, defensive lineman Doug Worthington and Rams staff members, cheerleaders and team mascot Rampage all participated in the event. The volunteers converted the gymnasium in the recreational center into a football playground, with inflatable kick and pass stations, a touchdown catch and dance station, obstacle course, tackling station, and interactive station where kids tried on Rams gear such as pads and helmets.
