Are St. Louians letting go of the Rams?
Television ratings for the team’s first game since leaving say that could be the case.
Nielsen, which tabulates TV viewership, says jilted St. Louisans were ho-hum about watching the team play Dallas on Saturday night in its first exhibition contest since leaving St. Louis after 21 seasons. The telecast, on ESPN, was seen in 2.3 percent of homes with a TV in the market to rank 24th nationally among the 56 major markets in which viewership is measured electronically.
And while the rating (6.9) was much better in LA, where the game was shown on the local ABC affiliate as well as ESPN and had an exciting finish as the Rams roared back in the second half to win 28-24, it didn’t rival what the team had been doing in St.
