With just one retirement, it seems as though the L.A. Rams greatest strength for the last ten years could now be perceived as the team’s greatest weakness. In Mike Clay’s 2024 edition of NFL position rankings for ESPN, which a year ago had the Rams near the bottom of almost every key group (an opinion that was mostly proven incorrect by the end of a 10-7 season), the highest-ranking position was really just one person: Matthew Stafford.
The Rams came in seventh for QB rankings going into 2024, which maybe at most got a slight two-percent bump from having Jimmy Garoppolo as the backup this year.
