The Los Angeles Rams have opted not to exercise the fifth-year option on offensive lineman Greg Robinson’s contract.
As of the 2011 collective bargaining agreement, NFL teams have the option to add a fifth year to a first-round draft picks' rookie contract. This year the league’s deadline to add the fifth-year option was May 3.
Robinson was the second overall selection in the 2014 NFL Draft out of Auburn. Since joining the team the 6-5, 332-pound Robinson has played in 46 games over three seasons, starting 42.
With the addition of Andrew Whitworth to the roster in free agency Robinson is expected to move to the right side of the line after playing primarily at left tackle during his previous three seasons.
