GLENDALE, Ariz. -- J.J. Watt's season-long absence, caused by re-injuring a back ailment that was surgically repaired only two months earlier, provided yet another reminder of a very important consideration.
"You can't really take any surgery for granted, no matter how small or big it may be or may sound," Los Angeles Rams defensive end Robert Quinn said. "When you cut your body open, you're tearing it apart. So you definitely want to give it some time to recover and recuperate."
Watt, the Houston Texans' star defensive end who is now on injured reserve, seemingly didn't allow himself an adequate amount of time to heal from late July surgery to repair a herniated disk.
