THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- Jared Goff was called into Jeff Fisher's office here early Tuesday morning. He sat alongside Case Keenum, listened to the Los Angeles Rams' coach tell him he would finally be the starting quarterback, then immediately called his parents. The texts poured in shortly after he hung up. Friends sent pictures of a tweet from ESPN's Chris Mortensen, who had broken the news shortly after the wunderkind was told himself.
Friends were upset Goff didn't tell them first.
"I just found out!" he would say.
Speaking after practice later in the afternoon, Fisher stressed that the decision was his and his alone.
