Los Angeles Rams linebacker Clay Matthews suffered a broken jaw against the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night and will be out for a month, coach Sean McVay said Friday.
Matthews, who had five tackles and a sack in the Rams' 30-29 loss, will have surgery.
McVay said he thinks the injury occured on a physical play with Seahawks running back Chris Carson.
Matthews has six sacks this season -- with at least one in each game -- and has forced two fumbles.
ESPN's Lindsey Thiry contributed to this report.
