Rams can’t do much worse on special teams than last year, right?

The Los Angeles Rams performed so poorly on special teams last year that they should in principle “regress to the mean” this season and improve. Blaine Grisak covered some of the issues last December. I am not sure special team’s coordinator’s Chase Blackburn’s unit improved in the final month or so of the season because as of January of 2024 the Rams had the sixth lowest Defense-Adjusted Value Over Average (DVOA) not just in the league, but of all time.

Since then, the Rams drafted kicker Joshua Karty and officially made him the kicker by releasing competition Tanner Brown.
