Rams backup RB Malcolm Brown likely headed to IR

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- Los Angeles Rams running back Malcolm Brown is likely headed to the injured reserve after undergoing a procedure to reset his clavicle, coach Sean McVay said Wednesday.

Brown, who serves as Todd Gurley's backup, suffered the injury on Sunday in the first half of a victory over the Detroit Lions. His recovery is expected to take 8-10 weeks.

"It's a big loss for our football team," McVay said. "He means a lot to us in a variety of different ways."

McVay said he did not anticipate that Brown's absence would affect Gurley.
