Rams assistant hired as Texans OC

Sean McVay’s massive coaching tree grew another branch on Monday, as the Houston Texans are hiring Rams tight ends coach Nick Caley to be their new offensive coordinator. Caley will replace Bobby Slowik, who was fired after two seasons at the helm despite the Texans making the playoffs in both years.

Caley, who reportedly turned down a $3 million offer from the Patriots last year and had also interviewed with the New York Jets, is just the latest McVay offensive or defensive disciple to gain a significant coaching position in the NFL.
