The Los Angeles Rams will have Micah Kiser again, activating the fourth-year linebacker from the practice squad in time to play in Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts. Kiser was a surprise cut this year after having been a starter at inside linebacker in 2020, but new practice squad rules essentially mean that we don’t have a true “53-man roster” anymore.
There is a 55-man roster in some ways, because teams can now activate up to two players from the practice squad for game day. There is just a limit to how many times a team can do that before having to make the player a part of the 53-man roster or to risk losing him to another team.
