QBs Goff, Wentz seem set to do NFL draft 1-2 step Thursday night

No matter how much time, money, and research teams expend evaluating prospects, the NFL draft remains very much a crapshoot. Even factoring that in, uncertainty is at the forefront of the 2016 player selection meeting even more so than usual.

OK, when NFL commissioner Roger Goodell puts the Rams on the clock shortly after 7 p.m. Thursday, it’s a given that the team takes a quarterback. And then Philadelphia will do the same at No. 2.

All signs point to Los Angeles going with California’s Jared Goff at No. 1 and the Eagles following with North Dakota State’s Carson Wentz.
