LOS ANGELES -- This is not a good matchup for the Los Angeles Rams, and it has nothing to do with the Carolina Panthers -- reigning NFC champions after a one-loss regular season -- being a lot better than their 2-5 record indicates.
It's that they're strong in the right areas on defense.
Even in the midst of a stunningly bad start to the 2016 season, the Panthers have given up only 80.1 rushing yards per game, third-lowest in the NFL. That is not good news for Todd Gurley, who has now been held below 100 rushing yards in 14 of his last 15 games.
