It had been a long time since cornerback E.J. Gaines strapped up his pads on gameday.
Between a concussion suffered Week 15 of 2014 and a season-ending foot injury suffered the first weekend of 2015 training camp, the Mizzou product has been sidelined for what he said has, at times, felt more like five years than just one.
That all changed in Saturday’s victory over Kansas City.
“It was exciting to get out there,” Gaines said Monday. “It’s been a full year and I was just excited to get out there and compete a little bit.
