The Jaguars’ No. 10 overall selection in 2010, Gabbert showed promise in his rookie year, but injuries and coaching changes stunted his growth. He became essentially an afterthought when the 49ers acquired him for a sixth-round pick prior to the 2014 season and slated him to be their backup to Colin Kaepernick.
