INDIANAPOLIS • There was no tiptoeing around the topic with Notre Dame quarterback DeShone Kizer.
The very first question during his media session at the NFL Scouting Combine: What went wrong last season?
To his credit, Kizer offered no excuses.
“Going into that season, we were very confident,” he said. “I was pretty confident in my abilities. But after the end of the year, and after a lot of film study and reflecting on the season, the ball’s in my hands every play. I’ve just gotta make more plays.”
By the numbers, Kizer’s performance in 2016 was comparable to his breakout 2015 campaign.
