LOS ANGELES -- NFL coaching greybeard and quarterback guru Jim Fassel provided the blueprint for rookie quarterback Jared Goff, making his league debut for the Los Angeles Rams.
Hand the ball off to Pro Bowl running back Todd Gurley, who finished with 75 rushing yards.
“Gurley’s got to get going,” said Fassel, whose son John Fassel serves as the Rams special teams coordinator. “That’s the very first thing. And then after that, give him some throws near and dear to his heart, so he doesn’t have to read a lot -- simple reads and quick throws.
