Oakland improved to 12-3 and moved a step closer to the AFC West title and a first-round playoff bye with its 33-25 victory over Indianapolis. But the Raiders may have lost any chance to do anything in the postseason when star quarterback Derek Carr suffered a broken fibula in the fourth quarter.
“Feels like we lost the game,” linebacker Bruce Irvin said afterward via the San Francisco Chronicle. “We lost our leader.”
Raiders coach Jack Del Rio told reporters that Carr would have surgery Sunday.
The Silver & Black will now go only as far as backup Matt McGloin takes them.
