The Giants-Cowboys matchup, the only NFL game on local television in the late-afternoon slot, was seen in 11.1 percent of homes with a TV. That's according to Nielsen, which tracks viewership. It was on KTVI (Channel 2).
At noon, KTVI showed Rams-Panthers and KMOV (Channel 4) carried Chiefs-Jaguars. The Chiefs' game drew an 8.3 rating, a figure that includes about a half hour of other contests that were shown because of technical troubles CBS had in the late stages of the Kansas City game. The Rams' rating was 6.6, after their opener last year drew a 5.5 figure locally when it was the nightcap of the ESPN "Monday Night Football" doubleheader.
