NFL notes: Chiefs open as road favorite in Super Bowl

The Kansas City Chiefs will be the first road team favorite in the history of the Super Bowl, which will have its 55th version on Feb. 7. They will be going up against Tampa Bay quarterback Tom Brady, who has won six Super Bowls and will be playing in his 10th.

Nonetheless, the Chiefs were installed as a 3 or 3½-point favorite, depending on the sportsbook, when the betting line was posted Sunday night in Las Vegas. They are the defending champs, rolled through the regular season and coasted past Buffalo in the AFC title game. Tampa Bay, conversely, was the fifth seed in the NFC playoffs but won in the playoffs at Washington, New Orleans and Green Bay.
