Morgan Fox signs with Panthers

Morgan Fox is signing with the Carolina Panthers, according to multiple reports. Fox will get a two-year, $8.1 million contract with $7 million guaranteed to play for the Panthers’ above-average defensive line.

Fox, 26, had a breakout campaign in 2020, recording 27 tackles, six sacks, one forced fumble, and two batted passes in 16 games. But his playing time increased as the season went on and he posted five sacks from Week 11 through to the wild card win over Seattle alone, a period of seven games. Fox surely benefited from playing alongside Aaron Donald, but he was more productive than many of his predecessors at the position and he was also heavily used on special teams in the latter part of the year.
