Saturday was a long day for Missouri’s NFL draft hopefuls, and by the time Denver wrapped up the seven-round draft with selection No. 253, only one Mizzou player had been chosen. And that was back on Thursday when Miami made defensive end Charles Harris its first-round pick.
It marked the first time since 2012 that Missouri only landed one player in the draft. That year, tight end Michael Egnew was a third-round selection, also by the Dolphins.
Several former Mizzou players hoped to hear their name called during Saturday’s portion of the draft, which included the final four rounds, but instead had to settle for free-agent contracts.
