EAST ST. LOUIS — Local casinos and gamblers are hoping to cash in when the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals face off in sports betting's biggest event Sunday.
A record 31.4 million Americans are expected to bet $7.61 billion on the Super Bowl this year, according to a survey from the American Gaming Association, driven in large part by a boom in legalized sports betting.
In Illinois, DraftKings at Casino Queen in East St. Louis had already surpassed its entire bet total from 2021 by Friday with the busiest two days of wagering still to come.
