For many instances since the Rams bolted St. Louis six years ago to return to the brighter financial lights of Southern California, their television ratings have been higher in the city they jilted than in their new home town.
That again was the case Sunday for the Los Angeles Rams' 23-20 victory over Cincinnati in the Super Bowl. Nielsen, which tabulates viewership, says 39.5% of homes in the Gateway City with a TV tuned into NBC's telecast (KSDK, Channel 5 locally), while the percentage in LA was 36.7.
St. Louis ranked 23rd nationally and Los Angeles was 34th among 56 major markets in which data is tracked electronically.
