Unexpectedly, the Los Angeles Rams and quarterback Matthew Stafford have entered a bit of a crossroad season. When the team and NFL media released Matthew Stafford: Locked In earlier in the offseason, it felt like the two sides would be in it together for the long haul. Then came the draft with the report that Stafford wanted an adjusted contract with more guaranteed money and the drama that ensued afterwards.
The resolution to that drama of course was Stafford getting more guaranteed money for 2024 - $23.5M to be exact. That essentially makes the contract a one-year, $40M deal.
