The Los Angeles Rams made an expected move today by cutting CB Kayvon Webster.
For Webster and the Rams, it all comes down to unfortunate timing. Webster was playing relatively well when he ruptured his Achilles tendon against the Philadelphia Eagles. That’s not a small injury for a CB, and usually has a 6-8 month recovery window.
Partially due to that injury, the Rams entered the offseason with considerable question marks at the CB position. Trumaine Johnson’s status was unknown after consecutive franchise tags, Nickell Robey-Coleman was an unrestricted free agent, and the Rams had little experienced depth behind them.
