After ESPN’s Lindsey Thiry’s story broke about the way LA Rams head coach Sean McVay fumed over the way his quarterback Jared Goff performed in 2019 and 2020, it triggered more than thoughts about football.
“You don’t need a weather vane to know which way the wind is blowing.” -Bob Dylan, on his album “Subterranean Homesick Blues,” 1965 (And yes, I know I’m probably dating myself here)
But there are a few lines in that same song that kinda resonated with me, ’cause it captured the breakdown of trust which happened last year between LA Rams head coach Sean McVay and quarterback Jared Goff, too:
“Look out kid
It’s somethin’ you did
God knows when
But you’re doin’ it again
You better duck down the alley way“-per Bob Dylan lyrics to Subterranean Homesick BluesOnly there are no alleyways to duck down on an NFL sideline.
