Tate played 4.5 seasons as a primary target for Stafford when they were teammates with the Detroit Lions.
During their time together, Tate put up the best numbers of his lengthy NFL career. (Isn’t that a good measure for the quality of the quarterback?) After all, he caught nearly 70 percent of the passes thrown to him by Stafford, put up the most touchdowns of his career by a significant margin, and he even had the longest chapter of his career with the Lions.
